GAJAR KA HALWA (CARROT HALWA)




INGREDIENTS
  • Carrots grated - 1.5 kg (4 cups approx)
  • Khoya (mava) grated - 200-250 grams (1 cup approx)
  • Sugar - 3-4 tablespoons
  • Cashew nuts & raisins to garnish
METHOD
  • Put the grated carrots in a pressure cooker.
  • As the pressure reaches the maximum, pressure cook for 1-2 minutes & turn off the flame.
  • Allow the pressure to release.
  • Heat a pan & add the pressure cooked carrots to the pan.

  • Allow water to get dried up completely.
  • Stirring it well, add the grated khoya (mava) to it.

  • Mix them well & cook till khoya gets absorbed into the carrots.
  • When they are well cooked together, add sugar to it.

  • Mix them well till sugar gets completely absorbed in carrots.
  • When it is well cooked, turn off the flame.
  • Garnish with cashew nuts & raisins.
  • Gajar ka halwa is ready to serve.

MACARONI SALAD

MACARONI SALAD




INGREDIENTS
  • Macaroni - 1 small cup
  • Mayonnaise (eggless) - 2 tablespoons
  • Capsicum - 1 small
  • Tomato - 1 small
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon (adjust according to taste)
  • Black pepper powder - 1/4 teaspoon
METHOD
  • Heat water in a pan & add macaroni to it.
  • Boil till macaroni turns soft.
  • Turn off the flame & strain macaroni using a strainer.
  • Strain it again using regular water.
  • Now allow it to cool down.
  • Next, slice capsicum to very small pieces.
  • Slice tomato to very small pieces.
  • Mix boiled macaroni, sliced capsicum & sliced tomato together.
  • Now, add salt & black pepper powder & mix well.
  • Add mayonnaise to this mixture & mix them really well.
  • Eggless mayonnaise is available from the company FunFoods.
  • Macaroni salad is ready to serve.
