EGGLESS VANILLA SPONGE CAKE



INGREDIENTS
  • Maida-1.5 cups (225 grams)
  • Curd-1 cup (250 ml)
  • Powdered sugar-3/4 cup (200 grams)
  • Baking powder-1 teaspoon
  • Baking Soda-1/2 teaspoon
  • Cooking oil-1/2 cup
  • Vanilla essence-1.5 teaspoon

METHOD
  • Preheat oven at 200 degrees celcius for 10 minutes.
  • Mix sugar & curd till sugar gets dissolved.




  • Add baking powder & baking soda & mix them well.
  • Keep it aside for 5 minutes.

  • As you start seeing bubbles, add oil, vanilla essence & mix well.



  • Slowly add sifted maida to this.

  • Mix them together till a creamy batter is formed.

  • Grease a baking tin with oil.
  • Pour the batter in the greased tin.

  • Place it in the preheated oven & bake for 25-30 minutes at 180 degrees celcius.
  • After 25-30 minutes, insert a toothpick or a knife in the cake.
  • If it comes out clean then take out the tin from the oven.


  • Allow it to cool down completely on a wire rack.
  • After it is cooled down, invert the tin.
  • Cut the cake into slices.
  • Eggless vanilla sponge cake is ready to serve.

Hi shilpi
I made dis twice the taste was gud but m not getting d dark brown color. the color does not changes as if not baked but toothpick comes out clean n baking time was also more den in ur receipe plz help..
